Nicole - Real Skin Stories
Before using 47 Skin, Nicole's post-blemish marks had a significant impact on her confidence, and makeup became a daily part of her routine to help conceal them. She describes layering concealer and foundation, often applying multiple layers just to feel comfortable leaving the house. For Nicole, makeup wasn't about enhancing her appearance - it was about coverage.
After finding our Serum, her marks gradually became lighter and less noticeable, and her relationship with makeup began to change. Instead of feeling the need to hide behind heavy foundation and concealer, she gained the freedom to choose whether or not to wear makeup. Today, she can leave the house with little to no makeup, feels more comfortable showing her natural skin, and no longer feels the need to "cake on" products to cover her marks.
Q&A
How did you feel about your skin when you were younger?
When I was younger, I wouldn't leave the house without makeup. I felt like I had to cover my marks before anyone saw me.
What was your makeup routine like back then?
I would start by putting concealer directly onto every mark, then layer foundation over the top. It was concealer, foundation, concealer, foundation - just making sure the marks weren't showing. In the day I'd wear foundation, come home, and I’d put on more foundation to go to sleep
Why did you rely so heavily on makeup?
I just needed to make sure the marks were gone. My makeup wasn't about looking glamorous - it was about covering what I didn't want people to see.
How much did your skin affect your confidence?
A lot. I had some really dark marks on my face, and I was always worried people would notice them. That's why I felt I needed so much makeup.
What was it like wearing that much makeup every day?
Looking back, it felt awful. My face was covered in layers of concealer and foundation. It felt heavy, and my skin couldn't breathe.
How has your skin changed over time?
After using 47 Skin, I have fewer marks now, and the marks I do have are much lighter. That's made a huge difference in how I feel about myself.
How has your relationship with makeup changed?
I still wear a little concealer sometimes, but nowhere near as much as I used to. Now it's a choice rather than something I feel I have to do.
Can you leave the house without makeup now?
Absolutely. Nine times out of ten, I won't wear makeup. I couldn't have done that years ago - no chance.
What does confidence look like for you today?
It means being able to walk out of the house without caking on makeup and feeling comfortable in my own skin.
